Naturescaping Symposium & Native Plant Sale

Naturescaping emphasizes landscaping with native plant species providing urban habitat for a diversity of wildlife and offering alternatives to the traditional water- and chemical-dependent manicured lawn. A series of guest speakers will share the benefits of incorporating native plants into your landscape. The day will also include exhibitors and a plant sale.

TWILIGHT WALKS ‘N OWLS

MARCH 24 & 26

TWILIGHT WALKS ‘N OWLS-The public is invited to come out and explore nature in the early spring via walking the trails at Valley Water Mill Park for TWILIGHT ‘N OWLS, Tuesday and Thursday evenings, March 24 and 26, 6:00-8:30pm. The Springfield-Greene County Park Board’s Outdoor Initiatives Staff will be on-site to guide walkers around the one-mile loop trail, the Watershed Center’s Learning Stations, including some turkey and owl calling.

Dickerson Park Zoo will have owls on-site at the Lakeside Learning Station at 6:30 and 7:30pm. Other activities, displays, and information available include: Outdoor Initiatives spring-summer program information, nature and outdoor videos, conservation and nature activities, and outdoor safety informaiton. Marshmallow roasting will be available Thursday evening only. All activities are FREE.
